Palma von Pegau is a purebred 22-month-old sable German Shepherd who was especially bred to be a working dog and given basic obedience lessons by her breeder before she was sold to her original owner for $6,000. She underwent protection training and sees this as her job, so Palma needs a special, shepherd-experienced owner who will use her in this capacity. She’s sharp as a tack and ready to move on to the next level of training. Palma is house-trained and, when not working, has fun playing with her toys (4-inch diameter balls are her favorite). She’s a loving girl who wants to be with her person most of the time. Riding in the car, jogging or hiking with you will make her day, as she thrives on activity and stimulation. Palma enters our doggie playgroups calmly, explores the yard and checks out the other dogs. Being a dominant girl herself, she gets along best with non-dominant, non-hyper male dogs. Palma is leery of strangers approaching you and will go into protection mode. Her new owner must be committed to using her abilities, investing time in training her further, setting boundaries and socializing her. No cats or children under 12.
